Tamarian designs and imports fine handmade rugs knotted in the Tibetan tradition. Woven in workshops in Nepal, our rugs range in styles from traditional to contemporary. Environmentally and health conscious, our rugs are woven with natural fibers, primarily wool and silk. Tamarian is proud to maintain Fair Trade status through certification by Label STEP, a Swiss non-profit organization which evaluates rug-making conditions world-wide.
Tamarian’s rugs are sold through fine retail shops and trade showrooms across North America. Supported by countless teams of creatives and craftspeople, Tamarian’s sole focus on high-quality, hand-woven rugs and innovative techniques has led the company to becoming one of the largest import-export ventures in Nepal.
Tamarian’s artists continue to release collections of rugs stocked in assorted sizes and colorways, while developing new and refined techniques. Although Tamarian’s heart and soul remains in Nepal, the company has in recent years developed the Habit Collection. Habit rugs are woven in India and Afghanistan with the same integrity, natural fibers, and beauty as the Tibetan collection but with value constructions and techniques.
